About this product
Dried dragon fruit comes in irregular pieces of strong fuchsia verging on purple, dotted with tiny black seeds like black sesame. The surface is matte and porous with ragged edges, so the bowl looks like a heap of petals. It catches the eye before you taste it.
Taste
Mild and lightly sweet, a little like kiwi and melon, with tiny seeds that crackle between the teeth. Ask us whether these pieces are crisp or chewy.
How to enjoy it
Scatter it over yoghurt or oats, or use it to add colour to a dried-fruit plate beside apricots and raisins; kids mostly love it for the colour. A few pieces also turn a glass of cold water or a white cake pink.
How to store it
Keep it airtight, away from damp and sun; light dulls the colour and air changes the texture, so a clear jar belongs inside the cupboard, not on the open shelf.
