About this product
Rose and pistachio lokum: short lengths cut from lokum rolls, each packed with green pistachio pieces you can see in the cut, and wrapped in dried rose petals of pinkish purple. This bowl also holds rolls coated in small red pieces and others in a fine brown coating. Each piece is a two-bite, two-finger sweet.
Taste
The lokum is soft with a slight stretch, the pistachio pieces give it bite, and the petals add a delicate texture and a faint scent. Each roll tastes of its coating, rose, red pieces or brown crumb, so you can pick your own.
How to enjoy it
Its natural place is beside a cup of bitter coffee when guests arrive. It goes on the Eid tray and to family visits, and pairs well with tea after dinner. One piece per cup is plenty; it is sweet and dense.
How to store it
Keep it in a closed box at room temperature, away from sun and damp, because the fridge makes lokum hard; if the pieces stick together, a light dusting of starch or icing sugar frees them.
