About this product
Roasted hazelnuts: whole, round, pale cream with scattered brown patches, as if most of the papery skin has come away and a little stayed behind. Each is small enough for one bite, slightly rough to the touch, and they pile up in the bowl like marbles.
Taste
Roasted hazelnut tastes warm and slightly sweet with a softer crunch than almond, and plenty of people find it reminds them of chocolate hazelnut spread. Try one next to an almond and you'll feel how much softer and sweeter it is.
How to enjoy it
Eaten as is, crushed over ice cream and cake, or stirred into melted chocolate at home for a quick treat for the kids. In winter it shares a dish with raisins and dried apricots.
How to store it
Hazelnuts turn rancid in warmth, so keep them sealed somewhere cool, or in the fridge if they will be around a while; a changed smell or a bitter taste means they have turned.
